Christmas gathering!

As 2009 draws to an end, some of us met up to celebrate the season of giving - Christmas day! We met at Shokudou Raffles City Shopping centre and ate to our heart's content. Food!! A season of presents, forgiveness and feasting! Of course, what can you expect from the Japanese Appreciation Club but Japanese food. ^^

The presents exchanged is actually more than the above... Half of those who went exchanged their presents first whilst waiting for the rest.

The last person to arrived was forced to down the whole glass of Kirin beer! Luckily Ming Hui didn't get tipsy drinking on an empty stomach!

Most of those who gathered were recollecting their fond memories of Japan. One can never forget what/who/where one did/met/went in Japan! A reason that we're all in JAC!!!

More to come when they get back. Stay tuned~ ^^

NOH

NOH performance~

I would recommend those who do not know what NOH is about to go for it! NOH is a traditional performance with costumes, masks and musical instruments. The performance is an insight to the Japanese culture and opens your eyes to the traditional Japanese culture.

Interested parties please look at the poster and register by yourself.

Enjoy!

NUS Japanese Cultural Night

To those who were unable to attend the JCN, here's an update of what happened! Read below to find out more~

On 16 October 2009, NUS's Japanese Study Society held their first-ever Cultural Night!!

The 2 MCs - entertaining and hilarious. Daniel kept changing his clothes... ~

The first item was a taiko performance, which unfortunately i failed to capture that performance.. Sorry about that ><

Traditional dance Club ~ '傘踊り’ (Kasa Odori means Umbrella dance)

Koto! It was really, really nice. Guess what, this club only started activity in 2009!! Less than a year old and I was really surprised that they could play that well! On top of that, a number of songs too!! If you get a chance to hear them play again, go for it!! You'll definitely not be disappointed!
Their songs were light, peaceful, and as the MCs said, 'You'll feel as though you are experiencing spring now'.

A fantastic night!!
I'll leave Sharyl to upload the remaining photos for you guys to see!!
Sharyl, please~ :D

You can still get tickets from us ((: Just e-mail anyone from the Main Committee or contact Sharyl (that's me~) at 98379106 or at vindication.27@hotmail.com and register with me~ ((: You will make the payment and collect your tickets on the day itself (21 Oct 2009)

I really hope to see you there and chronicle this with my dearest JAC family!
